CLAN BAIRD SOCIETY WORLDWIDE

The Clan Baird Society Worldwide is a Scottish heritage society open to those who bear the ancient and honored name Baird or any of its various spellings. These include Baaird, Baard, Bard, Barde, Bardt, Barr, Barth, Bayard, Beaird, Beard, Biard, and Byrd.

The Society’s mission is threefold:

The society was founded by Byron Owsley Baird of Maitland, Florida. Upon learning from the Lord Lyon, King of Arms that no organization existed for Clan Baird and that the Chiefship was in dormancy, he felt compelled to undertake the challenge.

A call went out to all Bairds to join efforts to organize a family society. The organizational meeting was held in July, 1972 during the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games in Linville, NC. The name was officially changed to Clan Baird Society Worldwide on July 11, 1992.

Clan regional commissioners, state representatives, and members under the sponsorship of Clan Baird Society Worldwide participate in Scottish Games and festivals throughout the world.  For more information about Clan Baird Society Worldwide, contact:
